23snaps’ Stories are changing the way people share content online
July 2014, London, UK - 23snaps’ Stories, a new approach to sharing content in context, have quickly become the favored format for content consumption among their user base.
In March 2014, the family-focused photo sharing app 23snaps announced the release of Stories. Stories enable the families on 23snaps to benefit from a more versatile method of sharing memories and experiences, and were designed to fill a gap in the way people were sharing their content online. Stories allow a complete narrative to be told from beginning to end in a way that is both simple and enjoyable – an option that is not currently offered by any of the more prominent social networks.
Since their release, Stories have become the most popular type of post for content consumers, regularly receiving a far higher number of likes and comments than photos, videos or status updates. Only 7% of the photos uploaded to 23snaps receive more than 5 comments, whilst 21% of all Stories amass this level of engagement.
Stories include an average number of photos that is 29% higher than when multiple photos are uploaded as a regular post. Content creators choose to share more photos per upload as a Story as they are able to put them in context for their friends and family. Stories have also overtaken the number of height and weight measurements uploaded to 23snaps daily, an activity that has been available since the service launched in 2012.
23snaps founder and CEO Ivailo Jordanov says “These statistics are indicative of a new trend in online sharing, social media users want to be able to share a more contextual story with their friends and family. We believe that other social networks will also see the advantage of allowing users to share content in this manner and will soon follow suit.”
Whilst the uptake on Stories usage has increased quickly across the board, an interesting quirk is that 23snaps’ Scandanavian users that are the biggest fans of this new way of sharing their content, with over 25% regularly creating and sharing Stories.
23snaps is a private social network for families that allows parents to save photos, videos, updates and stories of their children, share them privately with loved ones around the world, and even order photo books and prints of their favourite snaps. It is a modern take on the traditional baby book; making use of the latest technology but simple enough for every generation to use and enjoy.
Since the service was founded by Ivailo Jordanov and Yury Tereshchenko in 2012, it has surpassed 500,000 users in 179 different countries. 23snaps is available for free on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows 8, online and through a wi-fi enabled, digital photo frame.
